When was the last time you received kindness from somebody? When was the last time you extended an act of kindness to someone else, and to what end? As it turns out, there can be tremendous merits and outcomes in paying forward a kindness received with a good deed to somebody else, especially when done out of gratitude. The concept of "Paying It Forward" is nothing new, but in our world, I believe we could do with more compassion and selflessness as it brings out the best in us.

The Art of Paying it Forward Without Spending a Dime

When we pay it forward we commit an act of selflessness that transcends our connection to other humans on the planet, elevating the human experience in a positive way. Whether it’s a showing of kindness, faith, or even compassion, it all makes a difference and can potentially trigger a chain reaction of reciprocated behavior.

The Power of Altruism

Classical economics adopts a model that says people are primarily driven by material self-interest. Political science assumes that people are driven to maximize their power. But this worldview is clearly wrong. In real life, the push of selfishness is matched by the pull of empathy and altruism. This is not Hallmark card sentimentalism but scientific fact: As babies our neural connections are built by love and care. We have evolved to be really good at cooperation and empathy. We are strongly motivated to teach and help others.

Jonathan ONG. Sales Engineer

I first met Ida when we were heading to a Christmas gathering with my then-girlfriend, now wife. After that, we had many conversations, and she has always been readily available to listen and help. She had been my wife’s financial advisor long before I knew her, assisting with financial planning and encouraging her to develop healthy spending habits. We had our first meet-up for financial planning last year, and what really resonated with me was her reassurance about having someone to turn to in times of need, someone who genuinely cared. This way, I wouldn’t have to navigate the complexities of policies and claims on my own. Beyond being my financial advisor, she’s also a friend I’ve known for some time, which made me comfortable entrusting her with my policies. I even decided to make some changes on my existing ones to work with her. I’ll definitely recommend Ida to anyone I know who needs financial advice or assistance with policy management.

Jia Yun LIEW. University Student

I enjoy working with Ida & Yvonne. They help me to understand about financial planning and also very transparent in sharing with me how the plan works. They will inform me of the pros and cons & what will really suit me according to my needs and wants, especially when I am still a university student. They are definitely not the pushy type who will hard sell stuff, so I am really thankful for that! Both Ida and Yvonne are really nice and great to talk to, I've had multiple pleasant chats with them and it is overall enjoyable for me! Thank you both!

TAN Poh Beng. Retiree

I met Ida a few years ago and decided to engage her as my financial advisor because my previous agent did not have any time for me. She helped me reassess my needs and revise my plans according to my current situation. She is very responsive and knowledgeable in her profession, providing good alternatives and recommendations. Despite her busy schedule, she always ensures that we meet up yearly, which I really appreciate. Thank you very much!

Praveen M G. Application Developer

I had the pleasure of being introduced to Ida through one of my colleagues. Given my limited prior experience with personal insurances, I was grateful that she took the time to thoroughly explain all the details in a precise manner. This guidance led me to confidently choose AIA for my insurance needs. What truly sets Ida apart is her remarkable availability. Being easily reachable makes a world of difference, particularly when navigating through the process of making claims or seeking clarification about various policy aspects. This level of accessibility not only provides convenience but also instills a sense of trust and reliability in the services she offers.
